About

My name is Liz Critchley and I have been operating as LCI Proofreading & Editing Services for over three years. I will usually liaise with you directly and edit your project myself, however, during busy periods I may put you in contact with an equally experienced colleague.

Education and training: I studied English language and literature at degree level, where I achieved a high 2:1, and completed an MA in Modern History at the University of Leeds, where I achieved a merit. I also completed a variety of courses through the SfEP and the Publishing Training Centre, specialising in proofreading and editing.

My specialist fields are history, social sciences, business and management, but I am willing to read work from most disciplines.

Experience: A selection of recent clients are shown below, this also illustrates the variety of work undertaken on a regular basis.

Professional membership: I am an associate of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP) which is a professional society for employed and self-employed copy-editors and proofreaders. I abide by the SfEP Code of Practice.
